About the School

Mar Gregorios Memorial Senior Secondary School, christened as M.G.M. by people of Bhilai, was established in 1965 by the members of the M.G.O. Cathedral. It is one of the premier and first co-educational private schools in Bhilai Township. The school is founded in the name of the canonized Saint of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, Late Mar Gregorios of Parumala, Kerala, who pioneered the cause of education in the rural areas of Kerala. The school satisfies the need of all the people in and around Bhilai Township to educate their children with its secular approach, in a holistic way.

The school is affiliated to C.B.S.E. New Delhi.

The school has five sections. The Pre-primary section consisting of Nursery, K.G.I and K.G.2, functions in the morning shift, Upper Primary section (Class VI-VIII), Secondary Section (Class IX & X) Senior Secondary Section (Class XI & XII) also functions in the morning shift.

Primary section (Class I V) functions in the afternoon shift.

Morning shift is from 6.50 a.m. to 12 noon.

Afternoon shift is from 12.10 p.m. to 5.10 p.m.

One of the main advantages by joining in M.G.M. Senior Secondary School is that a student on joining the Nursery or K.G.I can easily step in for higher studies through its sister institutions viz. M.P. Christian College of Engineering & Technology and St. Thomas College.

The medium of instruction of the school is English. Hindi is taught from Pre-primary as a compulsory subject and Sanskrit is taught from class VI. M.G.M. as is fondly called by the students, parents and the public is a home away from home. The staff here are the parents of the students in the campus.
